دُعَاءٌ قَبْلَ الطَّعَام
Duʿāʾ qabl aṭ-Ṭaʿām — Before Eating
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، وَإِنْ نَسِيَ: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ فِي أَوَّلِهِ وَآخِرِهِ
Bismi-llāh. (Wa in nasiya an yaqūla fī awwalihi falyaqul:) Bismi-llāhi fī awwalihi wa ākhirihi.
In the name of Allah. (And if one forgets to say it at the beginning, let him say:) In the name of Allah at its beginning and its end.
Aisha reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When one of you eats, let him mention the name of Allah the Exalted. If he forgets to mention the name of Allah the Exalted at the beginning, let him say, 'In the name of Allah at its beginning and its end (Bismillāhi awwalahu wa ākhirahu).'
