دُعَاءُ عِيَادَةِ الْمَرِيض
Duʿāʾ ʿIyādat al-Marīḍ — When Visiting the Sick
لَا بَأْسَ طَهُورٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ
Lā baʾsa ṭahūrun in shāʾa-llāh.
No harm, (it is) a purification, if Allah wills.
Ibn ʿAbbās reported: The Prophet ﷺ went in to a bedouin to visit him. Whenever the Prophet ﷺ visited a sick person, he would say to him, 'No harm — a purification, if Allah wills.' The bedouin said, 'You say a purification? No, rather it is a fever that boils, or rages, in an old man and will send him to the graves.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Then, yes.'
